Papi’s is reinventing what the south thinks of sandwiches.
(But okay, now that you are on the “about us” page), let me get real with you. I’m someone who loves my life in Austin. A tech guy like the rest of them, the diversity of food and endless adventures that Austin offers is something I'm obsessed with.
Tacos will always reign supreme here, and I have no intention of changing that. I’m half Irish and half-Mexican, and getting to experience my Mom’s cuisine in a more authentic manner (when compared to the suburbs of Philadelphia) has been a real treat. But after living in Austin for four years, I've had thousands of tacos, too many beers to count, and a lot of time to think during the Covid Pandemic. I couldn’t help but notice one thing was missing from the place I proudly call home: a go-to, knock it out-of-the out-the- park, sandwich shop.
Papi's focuses entirely on refreshing cold sandwiches; we are taking things a step further than what’s expected, taking pride in perfecting the basics. Through a combination of Philly roots and thoughtfully crafted ingredients, our sandwiches are made with intention because what is needed is familiar food done right. Instead of masking profiles by haphazardly piling ingredients together, we’ve created sandwiches that continuously compliment themselves.
